Student views on whether subsidies can flow via federal exchanges

A federal judge is set to rule sometime today (Tuesday, October 22, 2013) in the lawsuit challenging whether subsidies can flow to residents who sign up for insurance via the Federal ACA exchange/marketplace.

Also today, 35 students in my introduction to the U.S. Health Care System Course at Duke University turned in an assignment where they had to answer the same question (Memo 1.pps165.due.10.22.13). I  haven’t read the memos yet, but the tally went as follows:

  • 21 said yes the subsidies could flow
  • 14 said that no, they cannot

I will do a quick follow up post after having read them.
