Switzerland, etc.

Douglas Holtz-Eakin and Avik Roy have proposed reforming Obamacare to make it more like Switzerland (some of what they write is quite similar to what I claimed in my book would result if there ever was a health reform deal). These guys spilled quite a few words over the past 30 odd months talking about how Obamacare had to be torn out root and branch, etc. This is a healthy shift, that acknoweldges the Supreme Court and the last elction. Ross Douthat chronicles other Conservative intellectuals moderating from some of the more reality-free policy positions championed by Republicans in recent years. What is missing are elected Republicans, especially in the House, doing the same.
